Drawn by George Ramsbottom (b 1903 d 1989) who produced work for D. C. Thomson's Dandy and Beano; Invisible Dick was his contribution to The Dandy in 1937. This strip (the Black Slink) appeared as a one pager over four issues of Adventure 1263 - 2nd April, 1264 - 9th April, 1265 -16th April and 1266 -23rd April 1949.
This was not the last appearance of the character as he returned in 1950 in (again in Adventure) a prose serial illustrated by Ramsbottom Dixon Hawke and The Black Slink in Adventure 1339 16th September -but this Black Slink was a villain so, in my opinion, a separate entity to the 1949 hero.
