The 1951 annual, published before Christmas 1950, had 94 pages and featured Old Mother Reilly, Abbott and Costello, Laurel and Hardy and only one adventure story -obviously reprinted from an earlier comic and you'll notice there are no speech balloons. If new material was included then that meant paying an artist, however, reprint a strip -artist already in so the annuals tended to be all company profit.
